Red Fire Agate is part of the chalcedony family like many varieties of cryptocrystalline quartz gemstones. Greeks and Romans claim they were the first to discover them in the Achates River but there's proof that the Fire Agate has been used since the Neolithic period. It is a protective and grounding stone. They were said to build a protective shield around the body, deflecting ill-wishing and harm while reflecting it back to its source. Fire Agates are said to facilitate calmness and assist in past traumas. They can also stimulate energy and life force as well as increase sexual vitality and libido.
